Shortly after the collection started, I got a drawing of the new kindergarten and a shopping list for materials. As it was the project started. For me personally, it has meant many trips back and forth to the island. It was obviously a big moment for me and for the residents of Maalat. I thought so clearly that it would be a special feeling that I had not previously experienced but it turned out to be much bigger than that. It was nerve wracking. It was beautiful. It was emotional and above all it was joyful. All those feelings washed over me at the same time and I experienced how together they developed and created something new. Not a new feeling, but rather a force, an indescribable clean dishwasher vinegar strength. Kindergarten was officially opened and everyone was welcomed in to celebrate with good food that the parents had cooked. Miss had with the children prepared as many as five different performances, ranging from poetry, song to dance but as we all know things do not always work out as planned with 3 - and 4-year-olds this day offered a surprise of silence. It ended with Miss entertained us with song and dance while children competed to see who could be the quietest.
Although no furniture yet was purchased, it was decided that teaching would begin as soon as possible, the day after. When I arrived that morning to the village heard the children singing far out of the way. The quiet game had finished.
