With all the commotion going on, a member of the AE92.ph group says he has a friend from the Legal Section of LTO, who has clarified the issue. It seems it was an issue of semantics: – Car enthusiasts’ definition of “modification:” guzzini cutlery body kits, spoilers, lowered/lifted suspension, mag wheels, high performance engines, etc. – LTO’s definition of “modification:” complete change of body style e.g. closed van into passenger type, 2 door sedan into 4 door sedan, dropside truck into passenger bus, etc. hence the need for an engineer’s approval.
Of course, we shouldn’t take this as an official announcement, so take it with a grain of salt. Read through it, and let us know what you think in the comments. Screenshots as posted on the AE92.ph Facebook Group Page:

Modification? if they can give a damn good reason. Ok. But if you tell us for safety. Lol. Car modification is just a good hobbies we just expressing our attitude. And why don’t you focus fixing illegal hobbies like drugs,crimes,logging ang mga kakurakutan. LTO Wag na kc kaung dumagdag. hndi namn ikauunlad ng pinas pinagagagawa nyo. Or try to modified your cars para maintindihan, maramdamn nyo. Marmi pang matutuwa and tutulong. Then after that open ng club “”Club LTO for modified cars only””

We can post as many coments as we want here but nothing will hapen. I think we need a lawyer or congresmen to represent us to compile all our substantial arguments and file a case to stop this stupid rule
