The Standards three restaurants are Verandah, which is run by the team behind the one-star Trishna in London, the most significant news. Where London has a handful of Indian high end restaurants that try to raise the spicy cuisine to the finest fiddling most Indian eateries home around the same touristy standard menus.
After a few Indian-inspired chartbase drinks at the bar - I got an excellent lassi - we boarded the menu (only option is five dishes for 395 kr.) That started with a modest but tasty vegetarian chaat (snack) with chickpeas in marsala, tamarind Churney and sweetened yogurt.
From increased level right to right: From the kitchen uncommon chartbase effective, charcoal-fired Tandoori came only a very juicy, roasted tikka marinated guinea fowl accompanied by lenses with a distinctive chartbase chili level, which made life difficult for the accompanying wine, a Barbera from La Spinetta.
So a characterful South Indian pepper fry with cod and black keralapeber who gave an almost smoky aroma, aided by soothing cherry tomatoes and beans. In the glass the glory of white Burgundy, Puligny monrachet from Michelot.
And then the climax: An excellent lamb curry smoked chartbase in tandoori oven, yielding just the twist, which (together with good ingredients) lifted curryen of the routine. The superb, chartbase fadserverede accessories consisted of two variations of the best naan bread, I immediately remember having tasted, spinach with corn, lentils and of course rice.
We note with pleasure that Verandah despite the ambition to rise from street level either due to the wimpy or Europeanized - which otherwise may well run into the same restaurants.
